Every guess must be a real footballer's surname of the correct length. After each guess the letters are colour-coded exactly like Wordle: green for a correct letter in the correct position, yellow for a correct letter in the wrong position, and grey for letters not in the answer. Use those clues to narrow down the player within six attempts.

How to play Football Wordle step by step

Note the length of the answer (the number of empty letter tiles). Enter a real footballer surname with that exact number of letters as your opening guess. Read the colours: green letters are locked in place, yellow letters belong elsewhere, grey letters are out. Choose your next surname to test new letters while keeping the green letters in place.
